Tulsa King: Sylvester Stallone becomes Tulsa’s head mobster in trailer for Paramount+ show

Hail to the king, baby. Action icon, Sylvester Stallone, makes his foray into television drama with a new series from Yellowstone creator, Taylor Sheridan, called Tulsa King. Stallone recently also made a superhero and streaming original debut with the Amazon Prime feature film Samaritan, in which he played a retired superhero who gets called back into duty.

The new mafia-themed drama will be available to stream on Paramount+ this fall and will be co-starring Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, A.C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany.

The plot synopsis according to Deadline reads,

The drama from Taylor Sheridan follows New York mafia capo Dwight ‘The General’ Manfredi (Stallone) just after he is released from prison to set up shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a ‘crew’ from a group of unlikely characters, helping establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet.”

The show has had the working title Kansas City, which gives the impression that the show might’ve once been written to take place there before being changed to Tulsa. Ironically, the trailer would make its premiere during the NFL telecast of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Buffalo Bills yesterday on CBS.

The series is executive produced by Sheridan, along with Terence Winter, Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter, and Braden Aftergood. The show is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.

Tulsa King will premiere with two episodes on Sunday, November 13 on Paramount+.
