Taylor Sheridan is creating quite the little cinematic empire over at Paramount+. In addition to Yellowstone and its various spinoffs, Sheridan also has Mayor of Kingstown and the upcoming Tulsa King, a crime drama starring Sylvester Stallone as a New York mafia capo who establishes a new criminal empire after his release from prison. The latest teaser trailer for Tulsa King has been released by Paramount+, and you can check it out above.
Sylvester Stallone stars in Tulsa King as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a New York mafia capo. After he’s released from prison, Dwight is unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a crew from a group of unlikely characters to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that might as well be another planet. In addition to Stallone, Tulsa King also stars Andrea Savage (I’m Sorry), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Max Casella (The Tender Bar), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Irishman), Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire), Jay Will (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), A.C. Peterson (Superman & Lois), and Garrett Hedlund (The United States vs. Billie Holiday).
It’s exciting to see Sylvester Stallone leading his first TV series, particularly as we don’t see the actor on the small screen all that often, let alone in a starring role. Production on Tulsa King recently wrapped, and Sylvester Stallone seems pumped which what they’re created. “I never worked so hard in my life and had so much fun,” Stallone said. “What we came up with is something extraordinary and life-changing for me.” Boardwalk Empire’s Terence Winter serves as the showrunner of Tulsa King and also executive produces alongside Stallone and Sheridan.
The first two episodes of Tulsa King will be released on Paramount+ on November 13th. What did you think of the latest Tulsa King teaser trailer? Will you be watching the series?
