If you ever had any doubt that KICK-ASS 2 was going to be good, then this new extended trailer should clear things up for you.
Where do I even begin? To start things off, we have a little featurette going in-depth on where Hit Girl’s head is when we get to the sequel. Chloe Moretz explains that the character is caught between being a superhero/vigilante and living a normal life. She knows she’s not ordinary but is it even possible to attempt to be an average teenager?
The extended trailer that played during the panel at Comic Con shows off quite a bit. Nothing is really spoiled for you but if you’d rather just see the movie with the knowledge you presently have then you might want to skip this. The trailer catches us up with the heroes and introduces us to team villain. This one clocks in around 4 minutes and 30 seconds so you have plenty of time to decide if you’ll be getting a ticket when it releases. Nice to see John Leguizamo finally made the trailer cut.
Synopsis: When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes. Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.
KICK-ASS 2, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jim Carrey, John Leguizamo, Lyndsy Fonseca, Donald Faison, Lindy Booth, Yancy Butler, Morris Chestnut, Clark Duke, and Olga Kurkulina starts cleaning up the streets on August 16, 2013.
