Netflix has released a trailer for True Story, a limited series starring Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes and it has the former showing more of his serious side.
The 7-episode limited series is set during a comedy tour stop for Kid (Hart) in his hometown of Philadelphia, where he reconnects with his older brother, Carlton (Snipes). Unfortunately, things go south on his first evening back and this threatens to destroy everything Kid has built which results in him having to make a series of increasingly morally complicated choices over the course of seven episodes. The series also stars Tawny Newsome, Will Catlett, Ash Santos, Lauren London, John Ales, Chris Diamantopoulos, Billy Zane, and Paul Adelstein.
The limited series will mark the first dramatic series for Kevin Hart who also serves as an executive producer on the project. The show is executive produced by Narcos and Narcos: Mexico showrunner Eric Newman, under his overall Television deal with Netflix. Serving as directors are Stephen Williams (Watchmen, Lost) will direct and executive produce the first three episodes, and Hanelle Culpepper (Star Trek Picard, Kung Fu), who will direct the final four episodes.
