If you're in the L.A. area and love TRUE ROMANCE, then get ready to be happy! It's been 21 years since Quentin Tarantino and director Tony Scott's TRUE ROMANCE hit the big screen and in order to mark the occasion, TRUE ROMANCE FEST was born. The first-time event will be a two-day, outdoor screening and party at the Safari Inn of Burbank, CA, where the movie was filmed and will take place on Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd with TRUE ROMANCE star Bronson Pinchot (Elliot Blitzer) hosting the overnight festivities.

Here's the rundown of events from the press release:

The weekend will begin on Friday, where VIP attendees can enjoy a day at the pool followed by a kick-off party with Paul ‘Marty’ Bates and a night of karaoke, True Romance style! Saturday morning will feature a meet & greet and breakfast with actor Bronson Pinchot, and culminate with an outdoor sunset screening of the cult classic film.  A Q&A with cast and crew will follow the screening. Guests can enjoy the “You’re So Cool” themed photo booth, as well as a display of original movie props, including Clarence and Alabama’s wedding rings.  DJ and vendors will also be on hand. Additional special guests are to be announced.

In addition, we spoke to event creator Daniel Storm about the Fest, who shared some more details about the inspiration for it, what you can expect to experience there, and other surprises.

How did you get involved in True Romance Fest?

I'm very involved because I am the co-creator, along with my business partner Sean Healy. I've been a huge fan of this movie since I saw it in the theater in 1993. I know this film backwards and forwards.

What is the inspiration for wanting to put on this event?

I'm a super fan. This was the result of a couple of friends having some adult beverages in the Safari Inn pool last Memorial Weekend and basically being mad that nobody did anything cool for the True Romance 20th Anniversary. So we decided to do something about it and nearly a year later here we are! It's an enormous task and I don't think we realized what we were getting ourselves into when we started.

What can people expect to experience at the fest?

We got everything here from a diddled-eyed joe to damned if I know. Something like this has never been done before. When was the last time you got to watch your favorite movie on location where the movie was shot and have it hosted by one of the actors in the film? It's going to be soooooo much fun. We have a photo booth, originals movie props, movie stills, food trucks, drinks and much more on Saturday, May 3. For the full True Romance experience you really need to stay the full weekend at the Safari!  We have a drink mixer kick off party on Friday, May 2nd hosted by Drexl's bodyguard! We also have some late night karaoke shenanigans, True Romance style, that should be a lot of fun. Saturday morning you wake up to breakfast with our host Bronson Pinchot!  Kill some time at the pool and then throw in the late night screening and Q&A and you have everything a real True Romance fan could want. Besides Bronson Pinchot, will there be anyone else from the film making an appearance?

Well we have Paul 'Marty' Bates and Said Faraj who both worked with Christian Slater in the film and we hope to pull a few more rabbits out of the hat before it's all said and done, so we'll see.

Why do you think True Romance still speaks to so many fans today?

This film is like no other. It appeals to everyone. The fan base is pretty much split 50/50 between men and women which is kind of rare. You have a cool cat like Clarence for the men and you have an amazingly strong woman in Alabama for the ladies. The men think Alabama is hot and the women think Clarence is dreamy. Their love is strong and that's what everyone in this world is looking for in their relationships. True Romance.
