True Detective writer hints at female detectives for the second season

Please don't hate me, but I haven't watched any of HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE yet. I keep hearing how amazing it is, but there are only so many hours in the day, and I've been trying to re-watch all eleven seasons of FRASIER. Hey, don't judge. Dr. Frasier Crane is the f*cking man.

A second season of TRUE DETECTIVE hasn't been confirmed by HBO (yet), but many believe another season will happen. But how will the new season be different from the last, besides having a new story and cast members? In an exchange with a fan on Twitter, writer/creator Nic Pizzolatto teased we could be seeing female detectives in the next season.

One of the (few) complaints about TRUE DETECTIVE has been its portrayal of women, and having two female detectives as the leads in the new season might help silence some critics. We know the seasons for HBO's show will be self-contained, so Nic Pizzolatto can really do whatever he wants with the next season.

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson have both received outstanding reviews for their performances in TRUE DETECTIVE, and if this is true, HBO will have to find two actresses to fill their very big shoes. So the question is, who would you like to see as the new detectives in the next season of TRUE DETECTIVE?

The second-to-last episode of the first season of TRUE DETECTIVE will air on March 2nd, 2014 on HBO.
