Truth be told, I have never seen director Dan Curtis' 1996 made-for-tv sequel to TRILOGY OF TERROR starring Karen Black. Hell, I'm not even 100% sure I'd heard of the movie before today. But I love me some Zuni fetish dolls so I'm going to be checking out TRILOGY OF TERROR II ASAP.
And speaking of which, today we have a killer announcement from Dawn of the Discs over on Twitter. Evidently, producers Michael Felsher and Frank Tarzi (JUST DESSERTS: THE MAKING OF CREEPSHOW) confirmed that Kino Lorber will be releasing TRILOGY OF TERROR II in an all-new Blu-ray edition with a brand new scan from the original film elements! There isn't currently a release date set but stay tuned here on AITH and we will pass along word as soon as we hear more.
For those who might not know TRILOGY OF TERROR II follows this synopsis:
The same woman (Lysette Anthony) appears in stories about a crime of passion, a demonic spirit, and an African death doll.
Yeah, I know. Not much to go on, huh? Here's a bit more info on the film.
The 1996 made-for-tv anthology is obviously a sequel to the original TRILOGY OF TERROR directed by Curtis. This sequel follows the formula of the original, with one female lead (this time played by Lysette Anthony) playing parts in each of three segments. This time the segments include tales such as The Graveyard Rats, Bobby, and He Who Kills, which is the follow-up to the classic Zuni fetish doll segment of the original trilogy.
TRILOGY OF TERROR II was directed by Dan Curtis (creator of DARK SHADOWS) from a screenplay he co-wrote with William F. Nolan (LOGAN'S RUN). The movie stars Lysette Anthony (KRULL) and features music by Bob Cobert. Do you plan to snag a copy of TRILOGY OF TERROR II when it hits Blu-ray in (hopefully) the near future? Let us know below!
