Patrick Lussier & Todd Farmer’s Trick hits this Halloween

For those of you out there that might not know, MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D and DRIVE ANGRY writing-directing team, Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer have a new Halloween horror-thriller coming our way called TRICK. And today we've learned that RLJE Films has acquired the rights to Lussier and Farmer's new flick and plan to unleash it into theaters and digital day-and-date this Halloween!

RLJE Films’ chief acquisitions officer Mark Ward said:

We’re excited to release Trick just in time for Halloween. With thrilling plot twists and turns, Trick will have audiences grasping the edge of their seats and will be the start of a terrifying new franchise.

The film "will be the start of a terrifying new franchise," you say? Bring it on!

The story centers on

An elusive serial killer, who descends upon a small town annually. He is responsible for gruesome murders year after year, each seemingly unrelated. No one believes this could be the same killer. Detective Denver has faced Trick once before, having -shot and killed him.  Or so everyone keeps telling him. However, Denver knows Trick is still out there, and he's coming back for revenge.

Omar Epps heads the cast in the main role of Detective Mike Denver, a man obsessed with a serial killer that has remained one step ahead of him for years. TRICK also stars Ellen Adair (HOMELAND) as Sheriff Lisa Jayne, the sheriff in the small town of Benton who has always considered Detective Denver as her mentor. Cheryl Winston, the only survivor of the latest round of killings in her small town, is played by Kristina Reyes (BLINDSPOT). Talbott is played by frequent George A. Romero collaborator Tom Atkins and Jamie Kennedy (SCREAM) stars as Dr. Steven.

RLJE Films unleashes Lussier and Farmer's TRICK into theaters and digital day-and-date on October 18. Now I don't know about you guys but this film has firmly sat near the top of my must-see horror movies since I first heard of it last Halloween. Are you excited? Let us know below!
