After working his way up into the starring role, Michael Gross has been carrying the TREMORS franchise on his shoulders for a couple decades now, continuing the fight against Graboids, Shriekers, and Ass-Blasters through multiple sequels and even a 13 episode television series that added more creatures into the mix. Not only is Gross a delight to watch in the role of survivalist / monster hunter Burt Gummer, but he's also willing to put his all into bringing the character to life – while filming TREMORS 5: BLOODLINES, Gross took a beating, sustaining injuries that included a gash on his shin, a broken rib, and a pulled muscle.
Gross is back in action as Gummer for TREMORS 6, which is currently filming in Cape Town, South Africa, and the sequel has already left a mark on the actor. Gross took to his Facebook account to share a picture of himself missing a chunk of tooth.
Gross also shared a video introducing the cast of the film during a script reading, although I can't point out any specific actors other than his TREMORS 5 co-star Jamie Kennedy, who is returning to reprise the role of Gummer's illegitimate son Travis B. Welker. According to IMDb, two of the actors in the room could be Tanya van Graan and Greg Kriek.
TREMORS 6 is being directed by TREMORS 5's Don Michael Paul, who shared his own image of Gross behind-the-scenes as Gummer on his Instagram account.
Details on the sequel's plot are being kept under wraps for now, but you can be sure that Gummer will be doing what he can with what he's got in the battle to keep us safe from monsters.
