Trejo: Machete Kills Again… In Space still on & will be unbelievably crazy

Like many horror fans out there, I was a massive fan of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's GRINDHOUSE double feature. It was fucking amazing when Robert made good on the promise of a full-length MACHETE flick, but that magic had worn off for this viewer come MACHETE KILLS. 

But that said, I'm still as excited as the next guy or gal for the planned follow-up MACHETE KILLS AGAIN… IN SPACE. And if you've been wondering just what the hell is happening with this potential third entry in the MACHETE series, today Danny Trejo was a guest on Popcorn Talks "I Could Never Be…" podcast and dropped some interesting info on the third film, mainly that… it's still happening!

[Writer-director Robert Rodriguez] is working on it. When that comes out, it's gonna just be unbelievably crazy.

Per IMDB the plot of MACHETE KILLS AGAIN… IN SPACE goes like this:

Voz flees to outer space after attempting to start a nuclear war on Earth and there is only one man who the President can trust to take Voz down Machete.

Does the world really need a plot synopsis for this movie? Shrugs. Anyhow, no word on just who might return for this third (and final?) MACHETE flick but I think it's safe to say we'll at least see such main-stays as Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, and Antonio Banderas. And maybe even a few returning actors from MACHETE KILLS such as Amber Heard, Lady Gaga, Walt Goggins, William Sadler, Demián Bichir, and maybe even Mel Gibson.
