The Robots in Disguise return to theaters with a new mission the weekend of June 9, and analysts are already crunching numbers for the film’s summertime debut. According to Hollywood trend watchers and number hounds, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts could make $68M to $70M in its opening weekend in the U.S. and Canada.

That number is impressive after 2018’s Bumblebee opened to $21.6M in the domestic market, while Transformers: The Last Knight did $44.6M over a $68.4M Wednesday through Sunday window. If Transformers: Rise of the Beasts performs as expected, the action-packed installment inspired by a nostalgic property will be another win for the recovering box office. For those keeping track, Fast X is racing toward a $60M debut, with Disney’s live-action version of The Little Mermaid swimming toward $110M. Elsewhere, Spider-Man: Acorss the Spider-Verse could web up $80M, setting the summer box office on fire.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts features an all-new cast including Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Velez, Dean Scott Vazquez, Tobe Nwigwe, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio, David Sobolov, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Pete Davidson, Colman Domingo, Cristo Fernández, and Tongayi Chirisa.

Michael Bay remains attached as a producer. But he’s also joined by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy, Mark Vahradian, and Duncan Henderson. Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce with Brian Goldner, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Brian Oliver, Bradley J. Fischer, and Valerii An.

The screenplay was penned by scribes Joby Harold, Darnell Metayer, Josh Peters, Erich Hoeber, and Jon Hoeber from a story by Harold. And Creed II’s Steven Caple Jr. takes over the directing duties after the previous entry, Bumblebee, was helmed by Travis Knight.

Do you think Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will conquer the box office when the film opens on June 9, 2023? Fans have been waiting years to see the Maximals on the silver screen, and the action in the trailers looks like the movie is one hell of a wild ride.
