Trailer: The Sonata starring Rutger Hauer

GALAXY OF HORRORS director Andrew Desmond's THE SONATA with Freya Tingley, Simon Abkarian, James Faulkner, and Rutger Hauer (in one of his final roles) will be hitting select theaters and on-demand in next month. And today we have the film's trailer and poster for you guys to check out.

It tells the tale of 

a young virtuoso violinist, Rose, who after being informed of the sudden death of her long lost composer father, inherits an old mansion in which he used to live. There, she discovers her father's final work: a mysterious music score marked with strange symbols. With the help of Charles, her agent, and manager, she deciphers the symbols and, little by little starts to unlock secrets concerning her father's past, setting in motion the mechanisms of a somber plan imagined since the very day she was born.

THE SONATA is directed by Andrew Desmond (GALAXY OF HORRORS) from a screenplay he wrote with Arthur Morin. Laurent Fumeron, Daniel Goroshko, Julien Loeffler, Rodolphe Sanzé, Sergey Selyanov, and Fabrice Smadja produce while David Gilbery, Sharunya Varriale, Jonathan Feuer, Patrick Fischer, Matthew Bradley, and Ron Bradley serve as executive producers. It stars Freya Tingley as Rose Fisher, Simon Abkarian as Charles Vernais, James Faulkner as Sir Victor Ferdinand, and Rutger Hauer as Richard Marlowe. It hits select theaters and on-demand on January 10, 2020
