A few months ago, we learned that Dead Mouse Productions LTD, Cult Screenings UK LTD, and Michael Perez Productions were teaming up for a documentary that would cover the entire NIGHT OF THE DEMONS franchise: director Kevin S. Tenney's classic 1988 original; Brian Trenchard-Smith's NIGHT OF THE DEMONS 2, which was released in 1994; Jimmy Kaufman's NIGHT OF THE DEMONS III from 1997; and Adam Gierasch's 2009 remake.
Now a trailer has been released online to offer us our first look at that documentary, THE PARTY'S JUST BEGUN: THE LEGACY OF NIGHT OF THE DEMONS.
Welcome to Hull House, please leave your soul at the door and join the most frightful bash with Angela – the reigning queen of scream!
In 1988, NIGHT OF THE DEMONS was released to a staggering success in its limited theatrical run, making an even bigger splash on the home video market, spawning two sequels and a remake the films rabid fan base grew joining our horror hostess every Halloween. Now from the team that brought you YOU'RE SO COOL BREWSTER: THE STORY OF FRIGHT NIGHT and PENNYWISE: THE STORY OF IT, comes a new experience in Halloween horror with THE PARTY'S JUST BEGUN: THE LEGACY OF NIGHT OF THE DEMONS!
Featuring exclusive interviews with cast and crew members from each film in the franchise, never before seen behind the scenes content, conceptual art, publicity materials and so much more! It's time to party with Angela and her demon cohorts – it's going to be one hell of a time.
The trailer qualifies as NSFW since it contains a clip of a certain lipstick moment from the first movie, but when you get a chance it's definitely worth taking a look at. All four movies are discussed in its 7 minutes, with clips of interviews with Tenney, Gierasch and co-writer Jace Anderson; actors Linnea Quigley, Cathy Podewell, Hal Havins, Lance Fenton, Philip Tanzini, Rick Peters, Billy Gallo, Rod McCary, Jennifer Rhodes, Darin Heames, Tiffany Shepis, and Amelia Kinkade (including a shot of her back in Angela's costume); composer Dennis Michael Tenney; and special effects artists Steve Johnson, Roy Knyrim, and Joe Castro.
There are hints at behind-the-scenes stories in there that I am very interested in hearing in full. If you're a fan of the NIGHT OF THE DEMONS movies, this looks like it's going to be a must-see.
Fans who are looking forward to THE PARTY'S JUST BEGUN should keep track of the project's Facebook page, as it says an Indiegogo campaign for the documentary will be going live this Friday.
