Greg Berlanti & Sera Gamble's stalker horror Netflix series YOU with Penn Badgley is something that we didn't really cover last year. But I guess with it becoming super popular we're going to be giving season 2 its day in court. Case in point, today we have the second season's teaser trailer.
Give it a look-see above and let us know what you think!
The first season is based on Caroline Kepnes' 2014 novel and follows
Joe Goldberg, a New York bookstore manager and serial killer (Penn Badgley) who falls in love with a customer/aspiring writer named Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and becomes immediately infatuated with her. To feed his toxic obsession, he uses social media and other technology to track her presence and remove obstacles to their romance. It featured Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry, and Shay Mitchell in supporting roles.
Meanwhile, this second season will follow Joe on a trip to Los Angeles where he sets his sights (and obviously becomes obsessed with) an aspiring chef by the rather silly name, Love Quinn *checks notes* Yep, Love Quinn.
The series evidently premiered over on Lifetime (yawn) where it (duh) attracted a limited audience. But it then became a super-popular series – over 40 million viewers – when it hit Netflix. Lifetime renewed YOU for a second season based on Kepnes' follow-up novel HIDDEN BODIES (great title) before it was announced that the series would become a Netflix Original title. The second season is set to be released on December 26, 2019.
