Why has nobody been talking about DESIERTO? The second trailer dropped today for the new thriller from director Jonás Cuarón, son of Alfonso (GRAVITY, CHILDREN OF MEN), and it looks like a delicious dose of adrenaline. A politically and racially charged flick about the U.S.-Mexican border, it stars The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a WOLF CREEK style vigilante villain and international star Gael García Bernal as the man in his crosshairs. Check out the trailer below and lament that you haven't been obsessing over this film for months!
Here's the synopsis:
What begins as a hopeful journey to seek a better life becomes a harrowing and primal fight for survival when a deranged, rifle-toting vigilante chases a group of unarmed men and women through the treacherous U.S.-Mexican border. In the harsh, unforgiving desert terrain, the odds are stacked firmly against them as they continuously discover there's nowhere to hide from the unrelenting, merciless killer.
DESIERTO also stars Alondra Hidalgo. It was written by Jonás Cuarón and Mateo García Elizondo and produced by Alfonso, Jonás, and Carlos Cuarón as well as Alex García, Charles Gillibert. It will hit theaters on October 14th.
