Trailer for The Parting Glass, horror short set in 19th century Ireland

Here’s an intriguing little item, worth shining a light on in the name of helping out a burgeoning young horror talent: the trailer for a very atmospheric student short called THE PARTING GLASS, which was produced in conjunction with Arts University Bournemouth. Written and Directed by Alexander McNeill, The Parting Glass is a short psychological horror set in late 19th century Ireland, centering around the fascinating array of rituals and superstitions prevalent within the Irish mourning process.

Here’s the synopsis for the short:

Ireland, 1892. After the death of his malicious father Frank, John believes he and his mother Catherine can leave their rural cottage for a happier life. However, as Catherine begins talking to Frank’s body during the night, John begins to question his mother’s sanity.
