The first trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s thriller SIDE EFFECTS has hit, featuring Rooney Mara as a woman who turns to prescription drugs to cope with her husband’s (Channing Tatum) release from prison. Naturally, things get crazy, spinning a web of murder, mystery, and deception. The pic also stars Jude Law and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Have a look:
TRAILER REMOVED AT THE REQUEST OF James Saul from Tadeka Pharmaceuticals.
It looks interesting enough and I’m a fan of Mara’s, especially after THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, but this looks very A&E to me. It doesn’t feel like the smooth cool that usually comes with a Soderbergh film. Personally, I really enjoyed his last film, HAYWIRE, which I think is a vastly underrated flick although I’ve yet to see MAGIC MIKE (and I’m not in a hurry to, either). Good cast, for sure, and it looks like it could be fun, but is it worth a trip to the theater? You decide.
SIDE EFFECTS opens on February 8, 2013.
