I think the greatest compliment that can be paid to any director is that you can look at a film and instantly know it's that person. There's something inherent about the film that just screams their name. It's why you can watch a movie like 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY and know it's Kubrick or 8 1/2 and know it's Fellini.
The same thing can be said about Quentin Tarantino. There's a signature flair about his movies, whether it's the engaging and unique dialogue, the shocking violence, or exorbitant shots of feet, you know it's him. Tarantino is without question an auteur and one of the most brilliant directors of the last twenty-five years. You can also make the case that he's at least half insane. Well, if you've ever wanted an opportunity to look inside the crazed mind of one of this generation's greatest directors, you are in luck.
Wood Entertainment has just released a brand new trailer for QT8: THE FIRST EIGHT about the eponymous director and you can certainly see the awe on the faces of actors like Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, and Jamie Foxx. As eccentric as he might be, as Foxx said, "Everyone is standing in the Quentin Tarantino line." The upcoming documentary from filmmaker Tara Wood will explore the making of Tarantino's first eight films including PULP FICTION, DJANGO UNCHAINED, and KILL BILL. The documentary also looks like it will address some of Tarantino's more controversial aspects, such as his relationship with Harvey Weinstein and the choking incident with Diane Kruger. As a huge Tarantino fan I am absolutely all-in on this doc.
Most recently, Tarantino released this summer's ONCE UPON A TIME…IN HOLLYWOOD a film joblo's own Chris Bumbray raved about. Tarantino's latest feature is also being re-released today with four additional scenes. So if you didn't get enough scenes of Brad Pitt and Leonardo Dicaprio driving around in cars, here's your chance.
QT8: THE FIRST EIGHT shoots its way onto VOD December 3.
