I don't know about you but I'm a sucker for teen horror movies based on the works of author Lois Duncan. Not sure why, but I love them. From I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER to Wes Craven's SUMMER OF FEAR, I'll watch them all. And it is with this in mind that I'm looking forward to director Rodrigo Cortés' upcoming adaptation of Duncan's DOWN A DARK HALL.
The film stars AnnaSophia Robb (THE REAPING), Isabelle Fuhrman (ORPHAN), Taylor Russell (LOST IN SPACE) and is said to feature "a truly memorable turn" by the iconic Uma Thurman. The film even made our recent Top 10 Genre Flicks to See in Summer 2018 and today we not only have the film's poster and trailer for your viewing pleasure, but we were also made aware that the film hits theaters, On Demand, and iTunes August 17th.
Produced by Stephenie Meyer (TWILIGHT, THE HOST) the supernatural thriller follows:
Kit a difficult young girl is sent to the mysterious Blackwood Boarding School when her heated temper becomes too much for her mother to handle. Once she arrives at Blackwood, Kit encounters eccentric headmistress Madame Duret (Uma Thurman) and meets the school's only other students, four young women also headed down a troubled path. While exploring the labyrinthine corridors of the school, Kit and her classmates discover that Blackwood Manor hides an age-old secret rooted in the paranormal.
Victoria Moroles, Noah Silver, and Rosie Day co-star in the film along with Robb, Fuhrman, Russell, and Thurman. The screenplay was adapted by Mike Goldbach and Chris Sparling. Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, Meghan Hibbett, and Adrián Guerra produce alongside Meyer.
DOWN A DARK HALL hits Theaters, On Demand, and iTunes August 17th.
