Last week, we took a look at the trailer for director Wych Kaosayananda's upcoming film THE DRIVER, which drops action star Mark Dacascos into a zombie apocalypse. That film is set to reach DVD, Digital, and On Demand on November 26th, and copies of the DVD can be pre-ordered at THIS LINK.
What we didn't know at that time is that Kaosayananda has directed another film set in the same world as THE DRIVER. This companion piece is called DEAD EARTH, and it "tells a parallel story to THE DRIVER, focusing on events that happen within the same post-apocalyptic world, with characters and locations intersecting between both films."
This one introduces
two young women as they cling to life in an abandoned resort. They must survive in silence, in mortal fear of attracting the hordes of undead. When their compound runs out of fuel, they are forced into the countryside to find gas, resulting in a nightmarish encounter with survivors. But that is nothing compared to the horrors that await them back at home, leading to a deadly confrontation with the evil that surrounds them.
Milena Gorum, Alice Tantayanon, Brian Migliore, Michael S. New, and Lee Mason star.
Lionsgate Home Entertainment will be releasing DEAD EARTH on DVD, Digital, and On Demand on January 28th, and copies of the DVD can be pre-ordered HERE.
This seems pretty cool to me, getting a pair of connected zombie movies just two months apart. I'm more interested in THE DRIVER due to the Dacascos factor, but it sounds like this could make for a fun double feature.
