Directly after graduating with degrees in Film Production and Cinematography from Bournemouth University, Kris Carr, Sam Fowler, and Charlie Pride formed Bad Taste Pictures and, determined to follow in the footsteps of Sam Raimi and Peter Jackson, went into production on their first feature THE YOUNG CANNIBALS… and no, the film doesn't have anything to do with the '80s band Fine Young Cannibals (or the 1960 film that group got their name from).
Written and directed by Carr and Fowler, with Pride serving as producer, THE YOUNG CANNIBALS is about
seven friends who summon a monster when they are tricked into eating burgers made of human flesh.
The trio enlisted the help of thirty fellow film school graduates as their crew and endured weeks of filming in awful weather conditions to get their movie made. The results of this endeavor are previewed in the newly released trailer, which is embedded below.
THE YOUNG CANNIBALS stars Megan Purvis, Samuel Freeman, Hannah Louise Howell, Benjamin Sarpong-Broni, Kim Spearman, Martin Thomas, and David Patrick Stucky.
There isn't any release information currently available for the film, but it looks like fun, so I'm hoping it won't be long before we hear some distribution news.
