The movie itself may not feel totally necessary, but TOY STORY 4 is still one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and now we finally have the best look yet with a full trailer. Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen) and all the other toys are back for a new round of adventure that finds them dealing with a makeshift toy, Forky (Tony Hale), going through some sort of metaphysical crisis. However, along the way, Woody begins to go through his own dilemma when he re-encounters his lost love, Bo Peep (Annie Potts), proving that toys have just as much emotional baggage as we do. Is life easy on no one?

Previous teasers for TS4 showed off some of the new characters, including stuffed animals played by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, but as to be expected we have the best look at the story here. There's the basic TS approach, with a toy getting lost and other having to go find them, but thanks to a good music choice with "God Only Knows" this one comes off like the most dramatic outing of the series, with Woody having to make some serious decisions about his future. Does he keep running back to his kid, or will he stay behind this time?
Perhaps it’s just fatigue from seeing Disney and Pixar making sequels to some of their more beloved hits, or maybe because the third movie ended things so well that this one seemed pointless, but for the longest time I had no excitement to see this new installment. But how can I not want to see this movie now? The trailer alone was gripping my heart with all the ways it teases the story's and Woody's journey, focusing more on emotion than showcasing silly characters. While I remain skeptical this one can top the finale of TOY STORY 3, I have a feeling this one will fill the seats and leave not a dry eye in the house.
TOY STORY 4 hits theaters June 21.
