Top Secret Untitled Lonely Island Movie begins filming; plus plot and poster

I'm surprised it's taken this long but the trio behind The Lonely Island are finally heading to the big-screen. It was first announced last year but production has now begun on the TOP SECRET UNTITLED LONELY ISLAND MOVIE which stars Jorma Taccone, Akiva Schaffer, and Andy Samberg. Judd Apatow will be producing with Schaffer and Taccone taking on directing duties. The plot is said to parody those fluffy music documentaries such as JUSTIN BIEBER: NEVER SAY NEVER and KATY PERRY: PART OF ME as it "centers on a rapper whose latest album bombs and he must do the unthinkable: a reunion concert with his former boy band."

Judd Apatow tweeted a fun poster to kick off production:

"Not to be hyperbolic, but we are seriously zazzed about this movie," said the band in a joint statement. Producer Judd Apatow sounded similarly zazzed as he added, "I have begged these fine gentlemen to allow me to produce one of their films since day one, and finally they decided my whining needed to come to an end."

THR also announced that Sarah Silverman has signed on to join the cast of the TOP SECRET UNTITLED LONELY ISLAND MOVIE as "the rapper’s sharp and sarcastic publicist who has to suffer many indignities." There's no release date set but I'm sure we can expect the film to arrive sometime next year.
