A while back I wrote
an article about
top ten dumb chick victims . Although I thought my article was filled with light humor and was not to
be taken too seriously, there were a few peeved women readers out there who didn’t think the
same. Of course, that’s their freaking problem. Only positive thing
that came out of their whining was that it inspired me to
make this list.
In a lot of cases, women in scary movies fit within two
categories, the victims or the heroines. But, there have been women in
horror that have been able to give the audience the heebie-jeebies as well.
Here is my list of the top ten lady-killers that have freaked me out. (And
hopefully I will be able to please both male and female horror fans!)

WARNING – SOME SPOILERS AHEAD!
5.
Baby-House of 1000 Corpses/The Devil’s Rejects
In House of 1000 Corpses,
Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie) really creeped me out during the scenes when she
scalped one of the victims, and stabbed to death the girl in the bunny
suit. The only thing I couldn’t stand about her was her goddamn laugh.
(I’ve never been so annoyed by a laugh since watching The Evil Dead.)
In The Devil’s Rejects, she thankfully lost the laugh, but was able
to keep her disturbing and quirky personality. Every time she smiled, she
sent chills down my spine, because she kind of resembled the real life
killer, Karla Homolka. (I don’t know if I was the only one who thought
that.)
4. Angela-Sleepaway
Camp
There are two types of
Sleepaway Camp fans. There are the ones that rooted for the original
Angela, and the other ones that rooted for Bruce Springsteen’s little
sister. Although watching Pamela Springsteen butcher stupid teens in the
sequels was very amusing.
I am more of a fan of the
original film with Felissa Rose butchering the stupid teens. Although, I
think it could be due to the fact that the original has the most f*cked up
ending I have ever seen in a horror movie before.
3.
Annie-Misery
No wonder Kathy Bates won
an Academy Award for this role. Annie, the psycho nurse was so freaky!
Watching this movie really frustrating me, because I just wanted Paul (James
Caan) or anyone to kick the living sh*t out of this woman! I think I really
wanted her dead when she “hobbled” poor Paul. By the end of the movie, I
think everyone was cheering when she finally got her comeuppance.
2. Mrs.
Voorhees-Friday the 13th
A lot of people who aren’t
avid horror fans still to this very day still don’t know that Jason was NOT
in the original film. I swear, I’ve had debates on the topic with people
who are convinced I am lying. (I always tell those idiots to watch Scream,
and see what happened to Casey Becker when she said Jason was the killer in
the original Friday the 13th to the killer on the phone.)
Betsy Palmer was terrifying in the role of the psychotic and troubled
killer. Her performance gave me nightmares as a child. ( Too bad they
couldn’t get her to cameo in Freddy Vs. Jason…not like it would
helped much.)
1.
Carrie-Carrie (TIE)
I never understood why kids were such as*holes in
high school. It’s always really hard for me to watch this movie, because I hate
watching the teens ridicule and make fun of Carrie. (Sissy Spacek) Then I
remember how she ends up killing all of them with her telekinetic powers at the
prom after the whole pig blood incident, and then I suddenly have the momentum
to watch the movie again.
1.
Catherine-Basic
Instinct (TIE)
When I was mentioning my top ten
to a friend of mine and when he asked, “Do you have Sharon Stone on this list?”
I freaked! I couldn’t believe I forgot probably the biggest bad ass of all lady
killers. Although, this movie kind of left it open if she was the “ice pick”
killer, the latest sequel basically just tells you she is. I loved her
character, because she knew exactly how to work people, particularly horny men.
But, please no more Basic Instinct sequels! The last one was enough.
