Arrow in the Head’s Top 10 Horror Movies of 2020! The Lodge, Sputnik & more!

2020 has been a hell of a year for, well, everyone. How do you start a best-of list without mentioning that theaters pushed ALL major genre releases back indefinitely? We missed out on Candyman, A Quiet Place 2, and Spiral, to name a few. But while the theatrical experience took a big hit this year (f*cking pandemic), the digital/VOD releases were some of the best I've seen in years. An odd balance that showed that the in-home experience could really compete with its public counterpart.

So with 2020 being unlike any other year in modern history, and with EVERYTHING being released straight into your home, my first ever top-ten list will be a bit eclectic. I should also warn you that I have never loved the idea of rankings. Have you ever found a James Bond ranking list that didn't make you want to throw your drink at the wall? People get so distracted by the arbitrary order that they miss the meat and potatoes of why the movie kicked-ass.

Storytelling is personal; what resonates with you may not hook me, but in the end, love what you love because life is too short for bullsh*t arguments. These are my favorite movies of the year but ONLY MINE and not everyone over at AITH. So grab yourself a drink, sit back, and enjoy the video above, and hopefully, a few of these spark your interest enough to give them a watch.
