Special effects artist Alec Gillis, co-founder of the company Amalgamated Dynamics with Tom Woodruff Jr., made his feature directorial debut on the monster movie HARBINGER DOWN, which is now available on DVD. Following close on the heels of that film is the feature directorial debut of Woodruff, FIRE CITY: END OF DAYS.
Written by Brian Lubocki and Michael Hayes, the film has the following synopsis:
Set in a world where demons live among us, this exhilarating vitrine of effects and action sees a hard-boiled demon named Vine confronted with the ultimate choice between the salvation of his own kind and the life of an innocent human girl.
Tobias Jelinek, Danielle Chuchran, Harry Shum Jr., and Kristin Minter star.
This is a return to the world of FIRE CITY for Woodruff and the writers; back in 2013 they made a short film entitled FIRE CITY: KING OF MISERIES and created the online comic FIRE CITY: THE INTERPRETER OF SIGNS.
Uncork'd Entertainment will be releasing FIRE CITY: END OF DAYS on DVD and VOD October 6th, and the trailer and cover art for the release can be seen below.
Looks to be a pretty cool, somewhat reminiscent of HELLBOY and other Guillermo del Toro projects, and packed with practical makeup effects.
