Tom Holland thinks Child’s Play remake is a terrific idea

Lar Klevberg and MGM's upcoming remake of Tom Holland and Don Mancini's CHILD'S PLAY is headed our way this summer. We've already let you guys know that Don Mancini isn't a fan of the remake and that Tom Holland loves the idea of Mark Hamill as the voice of new Chucky, but what does Holland think of the remake in general? He's all for it! Specifically, Holland says of the remake:

I think it’s terrific. I hope they can make the doll scary again!

Amen, Tom Holland. The hope that this remake somehow makes the killer doll actually scary again is one of the main reasons – if not the only reason in the whole world – to attempt a remake of the original film. After all, Mancini is keeping the franchise going in style, but those are more comedies at this point. Let's bring the fear back to the franchise, eh? Sounds like that's the plan to me and it sounds like a good plan to boot. Bring it on!

The upcoming remake's official synopsis reads:

A mother (Plaza) gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

The remake is directed by Lars Klevberg (POLAROID) from a screenplay written by KUNG FURY 2 writer Tyler Burton Smith with STEPHEN KING'S IT producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith producing. Aaron Schmidt and Chris Ferguson executive produced. Aubrey Plaza stars as Andy's Mom, along with Brian Tyree Henry as Mike, Gabriel Bateman (LIGHTS OUT) as Andy, and Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky. Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio, and Carlease Burke co-star. CHILD'S PLAY stalks and slashes its tiny terrifying ass into your local multiplex come June 21, 2019.
