Tom Hardy offers a look at Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady in Venom 2

In a mid-credits scene in the Marvel Comics adaptation VENOM, Woody Harrelson showed up – looking ridiculous with an awful red wig sitting on his head – as serial killer Cletus Kasady, letting us know that he would probably be returning as the villain called Carnage if a VENOM 2 were to be made.

Well, VENOM 2 has since been filmed, with Andy Serkis directing. Tom Hardy is back as journalist Eddie Brock, who becomes the title anti-hero when coated with an alien symbiote, and Harrelson is indeed back in the role of Cletus Kasady, likely to be covered in his own alien symbiote so he can become Carnage. But he looked so goofy at the end of VENOM, we couldn't help but wonder… what is Harrelson going to look like in VENOM 2? Are they seriously going to try to make him come off as threatening with that red mop on his head?

Today Hardy has answered our questions, taking to his Instagram account to share the first image of Harrelson as Kasady in the sequel. The answer is that he's still going to look goofy in this film, but he will have a different hairstyle.

UPDATE: Hardy has since taken the image down, but it was out there in the world long enough for others to grab it.

Hardy and Harrelson are joined in the cast by Michelle Williams as Eddie's wife Anne Weying, and Naomie Harris as Carnage's sonic-powered accomplice Shriek.

VENOM 2, which I think should be called VENOM VS. CARNAGE, is set to reach theatres on October 2, 2020.
