I’ve been wondering just what the hell Tom Hanks has been up to lately besides growing his hair out for unnecessary DA VINCI CODE sequels. Well in addition to his new show, The Pacific, premiering on HBO, he’s directing and starring in a new comedy called LARRY CROWNE.
CROWNE follows “a man in need of re-invention searching for his perfect new career.” The titular roles are played by Hanks and Julia Roberts, but via TwitPic (as seen above), Hanks has let the cat out of the bag on who is populating the rest of the film. And it’s quite a haul.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Cedric the Entertainer, Rami Malek, George Takei, Dale Dye, Peter Scolari, Bryan Cranston, Wilmer Valderrama, Taraji P Henson, Jon Seda, Maria Canals Barrera and Holmes Osborne will all be in the film to some degree, as seen on the casting board Hanks shows us here.
The film is being written by Hanks and randomly enough, Nia Vardalos of MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING fame, but no word yet on when we’ll actually see it released. But I’m intrigued.
