Man the torpedoes, keep your eyes and the radar, and dive, dive, dive, because a new trailer and poster for Sony's GREYHOUND, starring Tom Hanks, has risen to the surface.
Based on true events, and set in the early days of World War II, GREYHOUND shares the epic story of when an international convoy of 37 Allied ships, led by captain Ernest Krause (Tom Hanks) in his first command of a U.S. destroyer, crosses the treacherous North Atlantic while hotly pursued by wolf packs of Nazi U-boats.
The film, directed by Aaron Schneider (GET LOW, INTO THE STORM), was originally scheduled to breach theaters on May 8, 2020, though according to recent reports, the WWII epic will now charge into theaters on June 12, 2020. According to sources close to the film, the minor delay has nothing to do with concerns over coronavirus, which continues to be a reason that studios are rearranging release dates for their tentpole features.
The intense-looking war thriller is written by Tom Hanks, and is based on C.S. Forester's novel The Good Shepard.
Joining Hanks for GREYHOUND are stars Elisabeth Shue (ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING, Amazon's THE BOYS TV series), Stephen Graham (SNATCH, THIS IS ENGLAND), Rob Morgan (MUDBOUND, GODLESS), and Carl Glusman (THE NEON DEMON, EMBERS), among others.
