Director Christopher McQuarrie's jaunt into the M:I franchise looks alive and well if you're judging by this latest trailer for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION, which got a nice little bump into the summer movie season, giving us at least one more film we can count on for an entertaining popcorn flick. Once again starring Tom Cruise as super IMF agent Ethan Hunt, he's joined by some old faves, including Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner, but some new additons, including Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, and Sean Harris (as the main bad). After two trailers and a peek at some scenes at Cinemacon this year, I couldn't have more faith that this will be yet another excellent entry in the series. Let's see if the new trailer does the same for you…
"Open the door!"
Having been a fan of the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE series since the 1996 original, it's a damn pleasure to see them still being churned out and stepping up in quality at the same time. That's not always the case, but sometimes a series simply gets better with time and age, much like our favorite IMF agent, Ethan Hunt. Cruise is certainly starting to show his years, but you'd never know it from his relentless energy, commitment, and downright awe-inspiring stunt work that's put into this franchise. I'm happy to see him continue with these well into his twilight years at this rate.
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION opens on July 31, 2015.
