Director Todd Phillips began shooting his non-DCEU tied JOKER movie this past week and today shared the first look at Joaquin Phoenix as the character, who Phillips labels as “Arthur” in the image. There’s also a slew of set pics and video making the rounds from a scene filmed on the streets of New York where “Arthur” seems to be confronting a man dressed as a clown, antagonizing him before grabbing his red nose off his face and tossing it into the street, while laughing maniacally. Intriguing stuff, for sure, and a good tease overall. It’s such an interesting project overall and even if not tied to the DC Cinematic Universe, it’s got serious appeal, not to mention starpower. Check out all the goods below…

He looks freaking great! Seriously excited for this!
A suggestion if people want a taste of what we might get, check out War Dogs, another Todd Philips movie where he has Jonah hill play this unhinged creep who I got a very strong Joker vibe from when I saw it.#Joker https://t.co/zIRQmeq0D1
