We’ve already brought you guys a ton of news on the upcoming Blumhouse produced reboot of SPAWN from first-time director and Spawn creator Todd McFarlane.
But what about Spawn’s future outside the new film? Specifically the possibility of a SPAWN TV series or a reboot of SPAWN: THE ANIMATED SERIES.
Well, McFarlane was recently at the NYCC and Screen Geek caught up with him to ask him just that. And it turns out that after completing his work on the new movie, McFarlane plans to revisit the possibility of Spawn on the small screen.
Todd McFarlane on SPAWN’s return to TV:
I’m going to get the [Spawn] movie out and then we still have the rights for TV and animation and we’ll just figure it out. I’ve also got to figure out how to get Keith David in my movie, too. Just for one line.
Keith David, for those who might not know, voiced the character of Spawn aka Al Simmons throughout the animated series which aired on HBO from 1997 through 1999.
