One of my favorite filmmaking teams is screenwriter Todd Farmer and director Patrick Lussier. Next to Leigh Whannel and James Wan (SAW, INSIDIOUS) and Simon Barret and Adam Wingard (YOU'RE NEXT, THE GUEST), Lussier and Farmer are probably my favorite. Thus far the pair has produced such fun flicks as the remake of MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D and the crazy Nicolas Cage 3D movie DRIVE ANGRY.
And today we have word that the pair is at it again, this time with an original movie called TRICK, which Deadline reports is all set to star Dermot Mulroney (INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3). The new horror-thriller centers on
An elusive serial killer who descends upon a small town annually and is responsible for gruesome murders year after year, each in different jurisdictions and seemingly unrelated. No one believes this could be the same killer, but Detective Mike Denver (Mulroney) has faced Trick once before — he shot and killed him. Or so everyone keeps telling him.
I don't know about you, but Lussier and Farmer teaming up again is reason enough to rejoice, but toss in that killer synopsis (which sounds like a badass murder-mystery) and I'm all kinds of excited for this film. I'm on the fence about Mulroney's involvement, but I have nothing against the man so I guess it's time the guy showed his chops in a quality fright flick. We'll see soon!
TRICK will be helmed by Lussier (TERMINATOR: GENISYS) who penned the script along with Farmer (JASON X). Ellen S. Wander (DOLAN'S CADILLAC) will produce along with Gabriela Lugo (SOME KIND OF HATE). Are you looking forward to Lussier and Farmers new team-up? Which of their films together – MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D and DRIVE ANGRY – has been your favorite thus far? Let us know below!
