Titans standout Anna Diop teases Starfire’s new look for Season 2

I'm not going to lie, I was sort of blown away by how much I'd enjoyed the first season of DC's TITANS. Like many others, I'd had my doubts about the series after DC Universe released the first trailer for the adult-oriented series complete with a moment in which a disgruntled Dick Grayson exclaims "Fuck Batman." Groan. Thankfully, that eye-rolling moment wasn't indicative of the show's overall tone, despite the first season of TITANS being a dark and wild ride. In the end, I'd found the show to be incredibly well-crafted, and enjoyed many of the cast's performances, even that of Brenton Thwaites' Dick Grayson.

Be that as it may, my favorite character of the series by far was Starfire, as played by 24: LEGACY and US alumna Anna Diop. As Princess Koriand'r of Tamaran, Diop exuded an air of mystery that I'd found intoxicating. She was also mean as hell, and able to hold her own and then some against some of the show's more murderous minions. Make no mistake, when the second season of TITANS premieres on September 6 exclusively on DC Universe, I'll be quite eager to follow Starfire further down the rabbit hole of her shadowy past.

Yesterday, Diop posted a video to her personal Instagram account that features a glimpse of Starfire's new look for Season 2. Gone is the character's fur coat, shiny purple dress, and corkscrew curls. Instead, Diop looks to be sporting a royal purple top that exposes her midriff, tight, leathery pants, and a mop of semi-straightened wine-colored strands atop her head. Before shining a flashlight in our eyes, she flashes us a knowing smile, telling us that Season 2 is on the way, and that Starfire is likely up to no good.

You can view Diop's post for yourself below:

TITANS stars Brenton Thwaites (THE GIVER) as Dick Grayson/Robin, Teagan Croft (HOME AND AWAY) as Raven, Anna Diop (US) as Koriand’r/Starfire, Alan Ritchson (TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS) & Minka Kelly (JUST GO WITH IT) as Hawk and Dove, Bruno Bichir (CHE) as Dr. Niles Caulder, and Lindsey Gort (LUCIFER) as Police Detective Amy Rohrbach.

TITANS focuses on a young group of superheroes led by Nightwing, who come together to combat evil and other perils in the DC universe. When Season 2 begins, the team will find themselves coming face-to-mask with Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke, one of the DC Universe's most dangerous and deadly villains.

TITANS will return exclusively to DC Universe for a second season beginning on September 6.
