L.C. Holt has had acting roles in several horror movies, including You’re Next and V/H/S/2, and in recent years he has been getting into directing horror movies as well. His new film is Time’s Up, a New Year’s Eve slasher that gathers together some of Holt’s fellow genre regulars, like Hannah Fierman (Siren, Creepshow), Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey at Night, Haunt), and Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp, Victor Crowley), and puts them up against a killer called Father Time. The teaser trailer for Time’s Up made its debut on January 1st, and now you can check it out in the embed above!
Written by Holt, Time’s Up tells the following story:
At a New Year’s Eve party, a group of teachers from an idyllic Maine high school find themselves stalked by an assailant disguised as the holiday figure Father Time bent on revealing their darkest secrets. By midnight… heads will roll.
Here’s an alternative synopsis:
On New Year’s Eve, a faculty party for local teachers, still reeling from the suicide of a bullied student, goes horribly wrong when an unexpected guest arrives with an unusual request: participate in a scavenger hunt or die. Accompanied by a diligent reporter as well as a girl bent on discovering the truth about her friend’s death, the party-goers race to reveal secrets about their mysterious tormentor and each other before the first firework explodes, and the New Year begins with a bloody surprise.
Fierman, Maffei, and Rose are joined in the cast by Ryan James (Dark Circles), Jonathan Tiersten (Sleepaway Camp), Kamarra Cole (Balboa Blvd), Kate Kiddo (Terror Trips), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie) , Chaney Morrow (Wrong Turn), and Holt himself.
Holt produced the film with Rose and James, as well as Chris Bevins, Marcus Bradford, Matthew Hammond, and Steven Hugh Nelson.
Time’s Up is expected to be released sometime in 2022. You can keep up to date on the project by following its official Facebook page. In the meantime, a couple cool posters can be seen below:
