One of the best aspects of the last few Chucky movies has been the inclusion of actress Jennifer Tilly. Whether she's playing the killer doll Tiffany or herself, Tilly is always a blast to watch on screen.
Now, if you have been wondering like I have, just who Tilly will be playing in CULT OF CHUCKY, today we have a bit of news on the subject straight from the bride of Chucky herself.
Jennifer Tilly was recently speaking with THR about the future of the CHILD'S PLAY series, which you can find some choice quotes about that below as well, but what interests me the most is when she speaks about whether she will be portraying Tiffany, or herself in the new flick.
Turns out, she will be playing a bit of both.
Jennifer Tilly on CULT OF CHUCKY:
I play Tiffany, and I’m sure you don’t follow it but a few years ago, I played myself and Tiffany went into my body — Jennifer Tilly, international movie star — and Tiffany the doll, Tiffany's soul went into Jennifer. So in this movie, I may be Tiffany or I may be Jennifer Tilly. We don’t know. But they introduce me as Jennifer Tilly, but I’m very Tiffany-esque. I kill people. It’s really fun. The Chucky fans and horror film fans will really love that.
As vague as this statement is it makes a bit of sense to me. After all, we have heard that this new Chucky flick will be "Chucky on drugs" and take place in a mental institution. So I'm thinking it will be Fiona Dourif in the cuckoo's nest, Jennifer Tilly shows up, starts killing people, and we are left to wonder if she is possessed by Tiffany or if Fiona is just, you know, bat-sh*t crazy now.
Like I said, Tilly then goes on to speak about the future on the franchise and her role from here on out.
Tilly on the future of the series:
I'm super-good friends with the director. I think he’s going to put me in every Chucky movie until the end of time, and I honestly feel like there are going to be Chucky movies until the end of time because at the end of every movie he dies and comes back to life again.
I'm down. If Mancini keeps pumping out Chucky flicks and Tilly is still down to play a role in said films, then I will always be there opening day. Hell, leave Tilly out of it and I'd still be there. But as I said up top, Tilly makes the whole second half of the series much more fun to watch.

CULT OF CHUCKY synopsis:
Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic "tool" to facilitate his patients' group sessions – an all-too-familiar "Good Guy" doll with an innocently smiling face – a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn't crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky's now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child's Play, races to Nica's aid. But to save her he'll have to get past Tiffany (Oscar-nominee Jennifer Tilly), Chucky's long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.
CULT OF CHUCKY is written and directed by Don Mancini and stars Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Grace Lynn Kung, Michael Therriault, Zak Santiago, Summer H. Howell, and, of course, Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky!
CULT OF CHUCKY is set to hit this Halloween.
