Ah, the movie that no one asked for, THE THREE STOOGES. I suppose it’s a possibility that this could be somewhat entertaining, but I will be floored if this is anything less than a lackluster effort.
As a kid, I watched THE THREE STOOGES on TV and really enjoyed it. It’s hard to hate Larry, Curly, and Moe, but something about a modern version of these characters just feels wrong to me.
Anyway, click the image below to view the motion poster on their Facebook page. Yes, THE THREE STOOGES have a Facebook page…
The whole concept would work better if it took place in the same time period as the original series. It could also benefit from a director that could lend some visual punch to the film. Yeah, it’s “just” THE THREE STOOGES, but why not put some effort into it?
The Farrelly Brothers are good at gross out humor, but leave something to be desired by way of slapstick. In truth, they’ve made some of my favorite comedies (THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY, DUMB AND DUMBER), but they aren’t exactly visionaries.
Maybe this will surprise us, but I doubt it.
THE THREE STOOGES starts smacking, gouging, and poking on April 13, 2012.
On the other hand…there IS Kate Upton…
