I’ll give THE GREAT GATSBY a shot, so to speak, but I’m not particularly pumped for it. The book never held any lasting interest for me and I have zero need to see Leonardo DiCaprio in this sort of role (see DJANGO UNCHAINED for the exact opposite sentiment). But it exists now, and Baz Luhrmann’s visual stamp and attention to detail cannot be denied.
In the most curious case of counter-programming I’ve ever witnessed, you can catch DiCaprio in both THE GREAT GATSBY and DJANGO UNCHAINED in a little over six months from now on December 25th.
