Now that Sony Pictures Releasing's SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE is available to own on all platforms for your repeat viewing pleasure, it's time for Sony and Marvel to crank up the old hype machine for SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME, the upcoming sequel to 2017's SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING starring Tom Holland as the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler.

Today Sony has released three new posters for the Jon Watts-directed sequel, that sees Peter Parker and his friends going overseas on summer vacation to Europe, where Peter finds himself trying to fight off a new foe, Mysterio, who as his name indicates may not be all that he appears.

All three posters find the Stan Lee and Steve Ditko-created hero positioned around the streets of London, Venice and Berlin while striking a pose in his posh, new suit. If you look closely, your eagle eyes will notice some famous locales, such as the London Eye, formally known as the Millennium Wheel. There's also the House of Parliment, Berlin's Brandenburg Gate, Venice's Rialto Bridge and the Santa Maria dell Salute.

Set to make their return for the Spider-centric sequel are Tom Holland as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, Michael Keaton as the Vulture, Zendaya as Michelle (MJ), and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson are also confirmed to reprise their roles as SHIELD agents Maria Hill and Nick Fury, respectively. Jake Gyllenhaal will arrive as the villain Mysterio, though the nature of his true motivation in the film has yet to be revealed. In fact, some who are close to the film have stated that Mysterio will act as an ally to the Web-Head in the highly-anticipated follow-up. Does this mean that Keaton's The Vulture will have flown the coop to exact his revenge against Spider-Man, or does a yet-to-be-revealed ne're do well end up taking center stage?

We'll have to wait until July 5th to find out for sure, though my Spider-Sense in tingling with the notion that it's all a clever mis-direct, and that Mysterio will indeed serve as the film's Big Bad. Then again, what the hell do I know? After all, this is just me firing web-shooters in the dark. Why don't you tell us what you think will happen when SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME swings into theaters using the comments section below?
