According to Deadline, Jamie Alexander is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as she will be reprising her role of Lady Sif for Thor: Love and Thunder. Alexander played the role in Thor and Thor: The Dark World as well as several episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but she was missing in action on Thor: Ragnarok, which was probably for the best considering what Hela (Cate Blanchett) did to the majority of the Asgardians.
As an added twist, Deadline notes that Thor: Love and Thunder may not be the only MCU project that Jamie Alexander will appear in as sources have said that she may also make a guest appearance on the Loki Disney+ series. Thor: Love and Thunder will naturally see the return of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and he'll be joined by Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Taika Waititi as Korg, and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi will return to write and direct the sequel, and Chris Hemsworth shared his excitement about the script several months ago.
After reading the script, I can say that I am very excited. For sure there will be a lot of love and a lot of lightning in this production (laughs). I’m glad that after all that happened in Avengers: Endgame, I’m still part of the Marvel Universe and we can continue the story of Thor. Of course, I can’t tell you anything about the plot, but to satisfy your curiosity, I’ll say that I had a lot more fun reading the script than on Thor Ragnarok, and that proves something, because [that] movie was brilliant.
Thor: Love and Thunder is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
