When we last saw Chris Hemsworth's Thor in AVENGERS: ENDGAME, he had taken up with the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and it looks like Taika Waititi's THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER is going to pick up right where we left off with none other than Chris Pratt reportedly joining the sequel's cast. The news comes courtesy of THR's Heat Vision, with the details pretty scant, except to say that this shouldn't come as a total shock to Marvel fans given how the last film ended.
They also mentioned that before he flies to Australia to take part in the Marvel epic, Pratt's due to complete a short round of re-shoots for Paramount's big budget THE TOMORROW WAR, which, once upon a time, was due out this Christmas but got delayed to July 23rd, 2021 due to COVID-19. It sounds like they may have taken the opportunity to tweak the film a tad.
No news yet on whether the rest of the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY will be joining THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER, but that seems like a pretty good bet, right? The sequel, which is due out on Feb 11th, 2022, also features the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who inherits Thor's hammer, with Tessa Thompson returning as Valkyrie and Christian Bale also rumored to be part of the cast.
