After neither THOR nor THOR: THE DARK WORLD really rocked my world, I've got high hopes that Taika Waititi's upcoming THOR: RAGNAROK will give me the cosmically outrageous Thor adventure I've been craving. First reactions to the sequel have been almost universally positive, with many going out of their way to praise the movie's humour, but not everyone may be completely on-board with the new tone. In my opinion, a shake-up was desperately needed, especially as Chris Hemsworth recently admitted that he had grown "bored of myself as that character" prior to THOR: RAGNAROK. We'll see if the different approach will pay off, but I'm betting that it will.
A recently released TV spot for THOR: RAGNAROK, seen above, showcases Thor attempting to operate what appears to be a modified version of the Quinjet which Hulk used in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, only to have a little problem with the voice-activation.
The official synopsis for THOR: RAGNAROK:
In Marvel Studios’ ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!
THOR: RAGNAROK will hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
