Things have been slow on the development front for Eli Roth’s CLOWN but finally more casting for the film has been announced.
Christian DiStefano, age 7, has been cast as the Jake, the son of a man who tries on a clown suit for Jake’s birthday, then becomes possessed by the outfit and turns into a murderous psychopath. Man, I never get tired of reading that synopsis. DiStefano will be joining Elizabeth Whitmere and Matthew Stefiuk for CLOWN. No other casting has yet been announced, including what actor will take the title role.
The film will be the feature directorial debut of Jon Watts, who co-writes with Christopher D. Ford. The script is based on a concept from their viral video faux-trailer of the same name. Eli Roth is, of course, producing with Dimension films. Look for CLOWN to hit sometime next year and stay on the lookout for more news to come.
