This featurette is packed with new Ghost in the Shell footage

We're still waiting on the new trailer for Rupert Sanders' GHOST IN THE SHELL, which is set to arrive this weekend, but in the meantime we've nabbed a brand new featurette showcasing a great deal of new footage from the anime adaptation. Depicting the results of a set visit by anime director Mamoru Oshii, it's an exciting glimpse at the process of bringing a beloved animated property to life. Check it out below!

This adaptation of GHOST IN THE SHELL, which was written by Jonathan Herman and Jamie Moss, stars Johansson as Major:

a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

The film also stars Rila Fukushima, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbæk, Juliette Binoche, Beat Takeshi, Kaori Momoi, Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara, and Tuwanda Manyimo.

The flick hits theaters pretty soon, on March 31, 2017.
