Star Wars: Clone Wars came to a swift end when Disney acquired Lucasfilm, and it seemed as if the animation baton was passed right along to Star Wars: Rebels. The style is very similar, so I’m guessing it’s the story that Disney wanted to change up. After all, Clone Wars focused on characters and events that branched from several prequels that didn’t exactly leave the best taste in anyone’s mouth. Given that they’re releasing sequels to the original trilogy, they probably want to put everyone in the proper mindset. Enter: Rebels. What we have here is an extended trailer for the show, that gives us a little more scope into what we can expect.
Take a look:
While the show does seem to be aiming at a younger audience than mine, I still can’t help but want to check out the one-hour pilot that will kick-start this thing. The featurettes that have been released so far have been interesting, and I’m curious to see if writer Simon Kinberg‘s (X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST) involvement will have any bearing on the final product.
Star Wars: Rebels will air with a one-hour special on Disney XD this Fall.
