This Elm Street soundtrack box set is the music of your nightmares

In the weeks since Wes Craven's passing, we've seen a heap of heartwarming tributes both from people who knew him well as well as writers, podcasters, and filmmakers who were inspired by him. Included among this outpouring of respect is some truly incredible merchandise that fans have had to wait all too long for. Perhaps most exciting of all, Varèse Sarabande will be releasing a comprehensive, 8-disc set of the scores for the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET franchise.

This comprehensive set even includes the video game Freddy music from FREDDY'S DEAD and Machine Head's "Friday the 13th" theme from FREDDY VS. JASON, although it doesn't seem like the remake will be included. We have to draw the line somewhere.

The set includes the widely varied music from Charles Bernstein, Christopher Young, Angelo Badalamenti, Craig Safan, Jay Ferguson, Brian May, J. Peter Robinson, and Graeme Revell and comes snugly wrapped in an adorable mini Freddy sweater. You can check out photos of the box set below, as well as a personal favorite selection of Charles Bernstein's score for the original film, which is reminiscent of a Duran Duran album as performed by Satan himself.

You can pre-order the box set on the Varèse Sarabande web site starting tomorrow!
