The new poster for the Sarah Wayne Callies flick THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR is so far the most intriguing piece of promo I've seen for the film. Designed by Tom Hodge, it's a fantastical design that looks more like a painting from a book of fairy tales than a horror film.
It draws up easy comparisons to Guillermo del Toro's work, but the whole thing also evokes Jim Henson in his darker films (LABYRINTH, THE DARK CRYSTAL) down to the very font. If any scene in the film is half as cool as this poster, it will certainly end up on a solid heap of Top Ten lists. Check it out below!
A family lives an idyllic existence abroad until a tragic accident takes the life of their young son. The inconsolable mother learns of an ancient ritual that will bring him back to say a final goodbye. She travels to an ancient temple, where a door serves as a mysterious portal between two worlds. But when she disobeys a sacred warning to never open that door, she upsets the balance between life and death.
Johannes Roberts directed the film from a screenplay he wrote with Ernest Riera. It stars The Walking Dead's Sarah Wayne Callies, Jeremy Sisto, and Javier Botet (the unforgettable Niña Medeiros from the [REC] franchise). Peek on THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR in theaters March 4th.
