Back in November, we shared the news that the Shudder service had acquired the worldwide rights to They Live in the Grey, written and directed by Burlee and Abel Vang (Bedeviled). At the time, Shudder said they start streaming the film in North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand sometime in early 2022… and now we know exactly when it’s going to start streaming. If you’ve been looking forward to They Live in the Grey, you’ll be glad to hear that it will be available to watch through Shudder as of tomorrow, February 17th! A trailer has been released online to give a preview of what the Vang Brothers have in store for us, and you can check that out in the video embedded above.
This supernatural horror movie stars Michelle Krusiec (Hollywood) as Claire,
who, while investigating a child abuse case, discovers that the family is being tormented by a supernatural entity. In order to save the family, she must confront her own fears and use her emerging clairvoyance to stop the malevolent force.
Krusiec is joined in the cast by Ken Kirby (Good Trouble), Ellen Wroe (For All Mankind), and Madelyn Grace (Don’t Breathe 2).
A Standoff Pictures Production, in association with Whiskey Stream Films, They Live in the Grey was produced by Stephen Stanley and the Vang Brothers.
Shudder’s Craig Engler has described the film as “a stylish, scary chiller” that is “easily one of the year’s most frightening films”. The Vang Brothers said,
Most horror films with Asian leads are foreign films. We’re proud and excited to tell an Asian-American horror story – something you don’t often see. We can’t imagine a better partner than Shudder to help us bring this Asian-American narrative to the horror genre.”
