There’s Something Wrong with the Children: Zach Gilford, Alisha Wainwright star

Zach Gilford, who was recently seen in Mike Flanagan’s Netflix horror series Midnight Mass, and Alisha Wainwright (Raising Dion) have signed on to star in There’s Something Wrong with the Children, a creepy kid movie coming our way from director Roxanne Benjamin (Body at Brighton Rock) and Blumhouse Television. This is one of the eight movies Blumhouse is making exclusively for Epix.

Written by T.J. Cimfel and David White (the 2015 home invasion movie Intruders), There’s Something Wrong with the Children has the following synopsis:

Margaret (Wainwright) and Ben (Gilford) take a weekend trip with longtime friends Ellie and Thomas and their two young children. Eventually, Ben begins to suspect something supernatural is occurring when the kids behave strangely after disappearing into the woods overnight.

Variety reports that Gilford and Wainwright are joined in the cast by Amanda Crew (Final Destination 3) and Carlos Santos (Gentefied) as Ellie and Thomas, plus Briella Guiza (Ambulance) and David Mattle (Life & Beth) as the two kids.

Blumhouse Television’s Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, and Jeremy Gold are executive producing alongside Josh Reinhold.

There’s Something Wrong with the Children is now filming in New Orleans. This is the fourth Blumhouse / Epix we have details on; the others are A House on the Bayou (which premieres this Friday), Tattered Hearts, and The Visitor.

I enjoyed Blumhouse’s Hulu movie series Into the Dark, so I intend to watch their Epix movie series as well (and will also get around to watching their Amazon movie series Welcome to the Blumhouse at some point).
